Experience: Mid LevelTYBO Contracting Ltd. is a Top Employer 2021 Award Winning Civil Construction company based out of Langley, B.C.  We have many projects throughout the lower mainland and the province ranging from small residential subdivisions to bridge building and highway construction.  Due to our ever growing workload we are seeking experienced Civil Foreman to join our safety driven team.  We are looking for individuals with experience working in heavy civil construction with the capability to manually complete any activity when necessary.  Experience should be in installation of storm, sani and sewer pipe works, earthworks, bulk excavation, underground utilities and lot prep for subdivisions.

Heavy equipment operator responsibilities are carried out by a skilled person who does this job with safety and precision. They also have the responsibility of cleaning, maintaining and completing operator daily inspections. Operating and maintaining all heavy equipment requires a lot of experience, training and knowledge of machines and its parts. Such an operator must possess mechanical skills to perform his/her job in a strenuous and dangerous work environment. To become a heavy equipment operator, one must have these skills and should be completely trained to perform the job duties:

Duties and Responsibilities of a Heavy Equipment Operator

Operate all heavy equipment such as:

  • Excavators sizes 125-450
  • Back hoes
  • Rock Trucks

Tasks Include:

  • Working in tight work areas and in close proximity of workers, underground utilities, overhead power lines and the general public
  • Operate and control the equipment safely in changing ground conditions
  • Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work and knowledge of rigging
  • Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them
  • Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working, so that the normal activities are not disrupted.
  • Operate the equipment manually and also through the use of electronic or technical methods of operation.
  • Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work sites or traffic laws.
  • Perform other duties, as and when assigned
  • Perform safety, maintenance or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
  • Inform and advise the management or repairmen for major repairs or maintenance
